White and not so shabby

Spring is here, that cold blast seems to have been replaced by much warmer temperatures although some water is still falling from the skies now and again.

The kitchen is starting to turn white replacing the pink.  Can you imagine the whole room this colour, well actually it is more than just the one room.

Now thanks to Mark is it turning white, although he has had the bright idea of adding a black board behind the door, seen open here.    Standing with my back to the window and seeing this expanse of white is so nice.  When Mark suggested the black board he asked if I was indulging him, truth yes I am but he is a great artist and his graffiti when he was younger testified to that, tells me to trust him in this.

While Mark has worked his magic in the kitchen, these days his food is his art, I played in the next room.  This jewellery box started as a Kraft box waiting to do what ever you wanted to do to it.   Shabby Chic is what it cried out to me to have.   I'll not talk you through all the techniques applied, you know them all already.   Suffice that it has taken several days and lots of drying time.

There were one or two challenges in mind when I was doing this.

Everybody Art - A fortnightly challenge that has stood the test of time.  It is so nice to see so many of the older challenges are going strong and inspiring people as much as they do.   The theme here this fortnight is Pearls and Lace.

Artistic Inspirations - Another fortnightly challenge who just like to see what we have been doing, so Anything Goes.

Love to Create - I just love this monthly anything goes challenge, they attract entires from some fantastic artists.   Go check them out for yourself.

Creative Artiste - A monthly Mixed Media challenge.   This sort of opportunity to show off your work is terrific, looking around you see so many wonderful and inspiring ideas.

Eclectic Ellapu - Always Anything goes this time with the theme Spring is Coming.

The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge - The instruction for this challenge is to use a stencil and at least 3 different mediums.   I've used the Sweet Poppy Feather stencil with a glittery embossing paste.   Under that is Decoupage paper and glue.   Then there is Tissue Tape, Powertex, and 3 different colouring mediums.  Not to mention paper flowers stamped and fussy cut flower shapes, cotton doily, lace and some recycled beads.
