Snowdrops

Snowdrops are quite possibly my favourite flower.   They are springs advance bloom along with Hellebore they will flower with snow on the ground.   My Snowdrops were out in full force earlier this month.

Sadly I have only found one Snowdrop stamp but it is the perfect image and does come out at this time of year.   Yesterday during my crafting binge I made this postcard.

Snowdrops stamped I made a mask with quite a bit of fussy cutting to allow the background to peep through.   Mask in place my stencil placed sunshine yellow dusted over it.   The mask removed the image coloured with felt tip pens.  Next 4 or 5 different shades of DI were dusted over the edges of the card.   I did consider putting the mask back and stamping the snowdrops again "behind" the first image.   Then the solution hit me drops of water onto the dusted background.   By now the stencil marks were looking a little faded so I went over them with a yellow felt tip pen.   Finally some glossy accents on the 4 foremost flowers.

There were a couple of challenges in mind for this one.

Artistic Stamper - Sponsored by the business of the same name this monthly challenge is open to all mediums and styles.  Their challenge this month is Stencils and Masks.

Country View Challenges - My second postcard for their postcard challenge this month.

Take it Make it - This is the Craft Stamper magazine challenge.  All this year their monthly challenges are anything goes.

Unfortunately I have not found the Make your own Background challenge I'd seen somewhere.

This year is the first for several years that I do not have my own made calendar and it seems odd so one of my projects for the rest of this year is to make next years calendar.
