A time to travel

Well if you were my new thyme plant you think that.  Bob keeps moving it so I've not idea where it will be next.  It has become a right thyme traveller.

The weather has been glorious hasn't it?  As the next low pushes in and things become cooler and more unsettled we will miss all the sunshine.   It was fresher when I went for a walk last evening very refreshing.

Yesterday I came across a MDF cog I'd painted and set aside as it was not what I'd hoped for.   Decided to redo it based on a colour theme from Victorine Originals.  This is a fortnightly challenge and the current mood board has been on my mind for quite a few days.

Other challenges that were in my head, Crafting by Design with the prompt Steampunk.   And Allsorts who suggest we use Pearls.

Original paint job covered with blue chalk paint, the dominos were already in place and were also brushed with the paint.  The dominos were then rubbed with a baby wipe leaving a nice distressed effect.   Later a layer of crackle maker was painted over and a second coat of blue chalk paint added.  The effect of this was to strip some of the first coat away leaving spots of the original paint showing, even more nice distressing.

While these layers were drying my Sweet Pea Stamps "Steam Bee" was dug out.  Stamped onto smooth white card in Memento fussy cut and coloured with Sakura pens and ProMarkers.   The same treatment was given to a Heartfelt Creations Dahlia but only ProMarkers were used on it.   The flower was added to the cog first using Dina Wakley soft gel matt medium.   The been was placed over the top using the same medium.

The pearls? oh yes there are 79 small freshwater cultured pearls placed over the domino dots making the number standout.   Finally the clock work was fitted and a lovely pair of ornate hands completed the clock.   It now hangs proudly on the hall wall.  Yes that violent pink is the colour of my hall I've only been here 3 1/2 years and not redecorated this area yet.

Another challenge I'm sharing this with is That's Crafty my second entry to their April challenge Going Round in Circles, that is what clocks to after all.

Inspiration Destination, this fortnightly challenge are calling for the use of real stamps.  Looking at the DT samples it seems they are referring to rubber stamps.  Fingers crossed.

Creative Artiste, Always anything goes here.  Mixed Media of course.

Well it's Monday start of a new week lets all have fun with it!

    1. It's a clock! not a card. DT members who cannot be bothered to actually look at the entires and make comments based on their observations need not comment. Copy and paste comments devalue their team and are rather insulting to their entrants.
