Timmy Tag

We are doing a secret Santa at work, got something yesterday for the name i drew have wrapped it and of course it needed a tag.

TH die cut love this tag die it is sooo useful.   Tanda's Santa Timmy stamped and masked.   Tanda greetings stamped all over with Silver ink and then Whisper Pens used to colour in the holly.    Last Winters DI set used with ink dusters to colour white tag.   Everything given time to set and then the mask was removed and Santa Timmy coloured also with Whisper Pens.

It's not the brilliant masking and layering a lot of people do in this case the mask was to keep the white card white for Timmy's outfit.

Fashionable Stamping have a masking challenge this fortnight.

Lots and lots of Christmas themed challenges and the odd tag one just now here are a few of them:

Craft-Room - Tags

Hello! what a fantastic few day's i have just had.  Took 2 days off work and on Thursday went to the Christmas Market at Lincoln.   They say the Lincoln one was the first to be established in Briton.   Over 250 stalls and a fun fair it takes you all around the Cathedral and Castle on cobbled streets and even lawns covered with a walking surface.   Great variety of stalls food of course, crafted gifts such as pottery or jewellery, clothing toys all sorts.  Terrific atmosphere and Christmas sprite.

Then on Saturday my brother invited me to join him for a visit to London to meet Kathrine Grainger (Olympic rower gold medal pairs).   Poor woman had a day ahead of these meetings with just 12 or so people in each group.  Wonderful for us felt we really had an opportunity to connect with her and converse.   We also had tickets for the London eye, my first time, WOW.   Took photo's with my ipad which seemed to think they were video's.  Have to sort that out so in future i can share them with you.

Just had time then to make my project for the Craft-Room Challenge.   It is Hazel's turn to challenge us with a theme of Tags.   Our sponsor is FlonzCraft and it is one of their stamps I have used on my tag.  Made with two Spellbinder die cuts, the image stamped and coloured a swirly image randomly stamped on the base piece.   Both die cuts were then coloured using both Adirondack and DI inks with my ink dusters.

With Christmas just days away you are sure to have been making a tag or two why not share them with us and maybe win the draw?

Unruly Paperarts - Readers Art Quest

It's the 1st of December! you know what that means by the end of the month likely as not Easter Eggs will be on sale!   Time to start thinking about those spring colours and Easter bunny's.

The 1st of each month see the publication of the latest edition of Unruly Paper Arts and 2 great new RAQ's    One is challenging you to use 4 or more patterned papers.   The other is the one I joined in with is to make an easel card.   This is mine, based a spring card.

Lots of messy inky fun with brayer, and ink dusters, Adirondack inks and Distress Inks.   The stamps are all Rogue Redhead Designs and Frantage ep.    Tasha Too and Clare Lloyd had both made terrific and very different inspiration pieces to fire your imagination.

Oh la la at the Craft-room

I have not been around recently, still in a bit of a slump really but fine in myself.   If I've not visited you please don't be offended it is not personal.   Now it's time for another challenge at the Craft-Room.   Did you see how many entries we had last time! completely overwhelmed by it and our thanks to everyone who joined us.

This time it is Debi who selected our challenge and she has given us a great theme.  Anything French, that's not just Paris it is France in a way that evokes it for you.   Our sponsor? this time is Stamp Addicts who are offering one lucky person £10.00 to spend at their store.

Anything French, umm that's a poser so much choice.  I've visited Paris a few times and love it's contrasts.   Busy and modern and fast but with history and references to the past all around.  One thing it is not is shabby or rustic, but rustic shabby chic is, to my mind, very French.   I took a Kraft covered note book and dressed it up a bit.   You might not see it in the photo but over the cover there is some cream paper stamped in Sepia with French feeling images.   Then a strip of lace my local craft shop often has this wide lace in stock perfect for this theme.  The clock is from a set of printed acetate the butterfly has been added with foil.   Another piece of card stamped in Sepia and very much distressed, the negative from the foil laid over the top.    A diecut topper stamped Ladies Diary in you guessed it Sepia, a couple of pins and Fleur-de-lis button added.   the final touch some more lace ending with a big bead to act as a book mark.

Stumped for ideas, go and take a look at all the wonderful inspiration pieces the team have made.  So that is anything French this fortnight, at Craft-Room.    Sponsored by Stamp Addicts hope you will join in.

Tando Creative - Counting the Days

Last week-end a lot of my FB friends received updates about my sticky and inky fingers.   This is the result of all that wonderful messyness.

This week at Tando Creative the team are sharing home decor projects.  My contribution is this Perpetual Calendar.   Everything is in the kit apart from florists oasis foam stuff.... and glue.   A lot of glue went into the making of this.   The bowl was mostly decorated prior to being slotted together.  Each of the 4 sides was coated with clear drying glue and Alcohol glue dripped into the wet glue.   Once they were all dry the bowl was assembled, the un decorated sides show where the parts fit and these where decorated the same way, the glue helping to secure the piece.  Quickie pens traced the outline of some of the pools of colour and then gilding flakes stuck to them giving a trail down each piece.

The flowers, for the numbers, rectangles for months and clouds for days were coloured with either Adirondack dry inks or Glimmer Mists.   The numbers were coloured and then covered with Glossy Accents crackle glaze.   Parts assembled lots more glue and with a plastic straw filling the sandwich the straws slip over wooden dowels that are pushed into the oasis.

Great fun to make this will be a fun addition to my desk at work.

Craft-Room Diecuts and Punches

Somehow Christmas is just not registering here at the moment, rather the IMPs and I are dreaming of Spring and warmer days to come!  Guess I'll not be sending many Christmas cards this year!

Mervi, or Mrs Claus as she is know at this time of year, chose our challenge this fortnight encouraging us to get out our punches and dies.   As Mervi says there are some wonderful punches and dies available and so many things to be done with them.  So for the next fortnight Craft-Room Challenge is excited to see how you use yours.   Of course we have a prize for one lucky winner of the random draw, another fabulous jewellery kits from Rarebird.

For my sample this time I started with the TH Tag die, using the rest of an A4 sheet to make the supporting card.   All stamping is in Momento London Fog which is softer than black.   The posy and butterfly have been coloured with pastel Promarkers.    The card and tag were dusted with Ink Dusters and just the colour on them from a previous project.    The delicate honeysuckle toppers are from a Memory Box die.   I have been having problems getting good cuts with these dies, then Lisa told me to try using the plastic bag holding cereal in boxes.   It worked!

The Stamp Man - Embossing

You know little by little the old Mojo is creeping back, its a taking its own sweet time but when inspiration strikes it is all the more welcome.

This time it is a sample for the Stamp Man Challenge, its November and the challenge is to use embossing.   Yep simple as that use any kind of embossing you like and any project that takes your fancy.

For my tag I used the Stamp Man's Classical Instruments set and Stampendous Frantage ep.   The first task was to colour the tag with dye based ink and those ink dusters that now live on my work surface.   Then the stamping and heat embossing.  Next a cuttlebug embossing folder, was not sure how this would work over the ep and am thrilled with the resulting embossed embossing.   The hardest part of the whole project was eating the chocolate to free the little bell!

We all love embossing of one kind or another, and with Christmas card production now heating up you are sure to have some newly embossed work to share with us.  You never know Jill might just pick you as the winner.

Tanda Teaser 203

Whoops! this missing mojo business resulted in the new Tanda Teaser being late!!!   Going live now with a super simple theme of Anything Christmas.

I love the expression's on the faces of the penguin's from the Tanda Penguin Set 1 plate.  A quick and easy card really, all images stamped Adirondack Pitch Black or Stayzon Red.   Additional colour from Whisper pens.   Some Art Quest glitter and the card was done.

Would love you to join us, the challenge runs until the 4th December.

Craft-Room Time/Timepiece

Well will you look at who I finally met on Sunday!   Lisa of My makes 'n me fame.   Don't you just love our community of crafters and the like always eager to meet each other and exchange tips on where to find the bargains!   Lisa after however long it has been on blogland it was terrific to get to meet you at last.

Good morning, it's Tuesday again they are whizzing by aren't, Suzanne tells us that it is the pace of time that inspired her choice of theme this time at Craft-Room Challenge.   The challenge is to be inspired by Time and must include a timepiece on your project.    As usual we have a terrific sponsor for one lucky winner, and that is the ever popular Crafty Individuals.

Just over a week ago (at the Lincoln craft show) I picked up a set of Kaiser chipboard books and decided to make one of them up for this fortnights challenge.  Working on the project got me thinking of how limited a view of time seconds, minutes and hours are.   Time passes in seasons it flows backwards and forwards or so the physicists seem to tell us.   Some of those thoughts translated into this project.

The team are a very talented group and have risen to the challenge brilliantly do go and take a look at all their fabulous samples.   While you are there you can share yours with us as well.

Stamp man Butterflies Birds and Bees

Have you heard about the re-vamp of the Stamp Man challenge?   Jill has been so busy with the business and shows not to mention a busy DT the changes have become Monthly and can now be found on the Stamp Man Blog   A new challenge will start on the 1st of each month with DT samples being posted as the month progresses, worth checking back especially if you need a creative boost.   Recently Angela's amazing mask has been added to the page.

The theme this month is Butterflies, Birds and Bees

My inspiration came from the Butterfly post stampendous stamp. The butterfly from that stamp has been stamped onto vellum (some white some Silver) which was tinted from behind with ProMarkers.   The background was made using Adirondack dye based ink and ink dusters.  The flowers on the Paris Tag (cut with a TH die and then shortened, the arch at the bottom of the tower has also been cut out with the flowers left trailing) are also coloured with solvent pens.   I used Momento black for my stamping including on the vellum.  The stamps and ink pads are all from The Stamp Man Shop.

Craft-Room - Going Oriental

Gosh this fortnight has come around quickly, had last week off work and spent some time exploring the area.  So much to see and gorgeous scenery making some very inspiring driving.   Back to work on Monday so happy to have a job to go back to.

Back to the Craft-Room Challenge, and it's my turn to tease your creativity.   Not so long ago Oriental was all the rage, understandably there are so many beautiful images especially Japanese which are so graceful.   So Oriental it is please, our sponsor this time is Tanda Stamps  and of course it is their stamp's I used for this clock.

Chipboard Art Deco clock blank painted with black gesso.   The Geisha's stamped onto card heat embossed with gold then coloured with Promarkers.   The images at the bottom of the design stamped directly onto the clock face with Versamark to which Perfect Pearls was applied.    The edges of the chipboard were inked and more gold ep used.  When everything was in place the piece was sprayed with Iridescent Spray and Sparkle, hence the flare on the picture.   I took the clock outside to photograph in the morning but still could not avoid that, sorry.

I'm pretty sure you have some lovely oriental themed stamps and embellishments tucked away please be tempted to get them out and join us.   At the least please visit the team they are all so talented and have produced wonderful inspirational samples just to encourage you, they are all on show at Craft-Room Challenge

Craft-Room - Alter it

Hi! I think I'm back at last following a bit of a creative dry spell.  A lot of you know I've had quite a couple of years that were very up and down but which have turned out well but maybe things caught up with me a little bit.  Anyway the juices seem to be flowing again!

At the week-end Julia's daughter got married, fellow Teamie Maria and I were invited to the evening bash and had a great time.   Everything about the evening was magical thank you Julia.   One of the first things Julia said to us feel free to take some of the table dressings, the tables had been scattered with purple petals and lovely shiny little droplets.  Needless to say we did not need to be asked twice.    It also turned out that Maria has lost here spec's case and was using a blank (waiting to be altered) wooden pencil case and that with the table dressing got the juices flowing again.

This fortnights challenge at the Craft-Room has been set by Julia who as she explores the inky, messier side of crafting is becoming very interested in altering things and so that is what she is asking us all to do, alter something, anything recycle something or just give an old tired object a new lease of life.  Of course we have a terrific sponsor with us this time Stamp Addicts are offer a £10 to one lucky person to spend at their store.
Thank you Stamp Addicts

OK so I got home midday Sunday with petals and shiny things in my bag and an idea to make over an old spec's case.  Talk about cutting it fine LOL   First I coated the case (Picture above) with Viva Croco primer and set it aside to dry.   Next I Stamped a Creative Expressions Butterfly onto card and heat embossed it in gold.   Having cut the image out it was coloured with shades of purple ProMarkers and glued onto the case.    Gold Croco slathered over the case top and bottom and around the butterfly, I love this paste the thicker the layer the more dramatic the cracks.    Some of the petals and shiny things were pushed into the wet paste and the whole lot left to dry.    Monday morning prior to going to work (I was late by the way) Glossy Accents applied over the stamped image and that was left to dry.   What I would have done if any of this had turned out badly I have no idea! as it happens it seems to be OK.   Maria the case will be in the post to you at the week-end!

So many of us love altering please do join us and share your altered project, if you are lacking inspiration check out the team's blogs they have as usual made some stunning projects for the challenge.   See you over at Craft-Room Challenge.

Craft-Room Challenge - Childhood Memories

I'm pre-scheduling this as I've no idea how long the disruption will go on.   By the time you see this I hope it will all be over but you never can tell!

At the Craft-Room Challenge this fortnight Maria has set our theme which Tando Creative are sponsoring.   The theme is Childhood Memories.

I used to love going to country shows where as often as not they had wonderful nostalgic steam driven merry go rounds.   As soon as Di brought this Tando Carousal out I just knew I had to make one up.  With Maria's theme the timing was perfect.

For my Carousal the main chipboard pieces were first lightly painted with white gesso before being given bright and colour coats of Viva Inca Gold.   The scroll work and edge of the platform have been gilded, while the center uprights have been stamped and decorated with gold coloured ep.    The prancing ponies were painted with Artquest Sparkling Pastelles in white and gold the saddles and  saddle cloths painted with Inca gold.   Their mains and tails have been decorated with Stampendous shabby white EP.   One of the beauties of this kit is that there is just one strip to be glued, just one edge of the roof piece to hold it in place and by doing so secures the entire piece.

We all have childhood memories our own or memories of our children/grandchildren  the rest of the team have certainly been inspired to share their magical memories with you.   One lucky winner of the random draw will win some fabulous  Tando Creative   products.

CAS Saturday

All that pushing to get things made before the re-wire that never was left my Mo-Jo in need of a holiday.    But its OK I've discovered the joys of bursting bubbles on Facebook LOL

Waiting all week for the week-end ideas are bubbling up if there enough hours that is!   First completed project inspired by Less is More whose challenge this week is just the instruction to use an oval somewhere in your project.

The Cat image is an old PSX stamp I've had for years it always reminds me of the late great Chaos.   Oval mat and frame behind it cut with spellbinders.   Old cuttlebug strips used to emboss the ends of the card all colouring with ink dusters and distress inks. The card itself is A4 cut in half length wise and then laid on its side.

Tando Creative - September Challenge

Trees and Leaves

Every month at Tando Creative we have a challenge for you.   You do not have to use Tando products in your entry just follow our theme.   With Autumn officially starting here in the northern hemisphere (lucky folks on the southern half of the planet its spring there) we are enjoying the last of Summer's garden cloths with Trees and Leaves.

I used the Tando mini theatre wide, these come with solid back and five layers of frame.   The layers are held together with tissue tape after being sprayed with Glimmer Mists.   Some paper has been also been sprayed with both Glimmer Mists and Moon glow sprays, crumpled and then swiped with ink and ep.   Penny black birds on a branch stamped coloured and fussy cut to go on top.   Some fancy yarn glued to the top and the TH leaves, twigs and acorns diecut in co-ordinations distressed and stuck down the side, with some fantasy fibre's behind them.

The tree is more Tando chippie I love the curves and sense movement in this piece.   Here it has been given layers of Moonglow ep in different colours.    Looking forward now to seeing your Trees and Leaves at  Tando Creative .

Creative Card Crew have a challenge prompt of Trees.
Amusing Challenges are looking for anything but a card.
Hopefully my little project will qualify for these two challenges.

Rogue Redhead Nature Notes Take 4

This is sadly my last guest piece for Rogue Redhead Designs.   These stamps invite so many different styles and techniques  you can be sure that there are more to come.   The stamps I've been showcasing at from the latest plate, Nature Notes.

Autumn has inspired this card with its earthy tones but still vibrant colours and those autumn skies.   Stamped in Archival Light Brown colour brushed over with ink dusters and then whisper pens used to add highlights.

I'd like to share this card with Just some Lines who have challenged us to use 2 different colouring mediums.  Inkylicious Dusters with Adirondack dye ink pads and Whisper pens and stamping with Archival ink.

Because of a slight mis-communication I did not share my third card with you when it was published on the Rogue Redhead Designs blog so am sharing it now.

This card has a background from another set, Relish Reading, stamped this time in espresso.  Some DP has been cut into strips and woven to make the corner piece.   Clarice (my name for this stamp) stamped onto card cut with a spellbinder die and coloured with Pro Markers.   Ink dusters and Adirondack inks used to blend the back ground.

I'd like to share this card with Blogger's Challenge which is bring on Fall.

White on White

Last week-end one of my Young's colleagues became a married lady.   Lou, the lady in question, and her new Husband are currently on a three week road trip on the East coast of America.    Surprise surprise I made the office card for them

Taking my theme from the wedding invitations which were CAS with just a simple embossed heart.   My favourite wedding stamp is a rather old Anita's stamp a simple outline that expresses both tender attachment and romance.    Using smooth white card two lines were scored down the side and along the bottom weaving them in the corner where they meet.    The loving pair were then stamped and embossed with white shabby ep.

My Sheri Crafts have a White on White challenge this week, with some stunning entries and amazing inspiration from the team.  My card is far less elaborate than anything I've seen there.

Sweet Stamping also have a White on White challenge the team there are wonderfully diverse in their samples clearly all are welcome.

The Stamp Man - Use Bright Colours

It's Friday time to wind down another week.   With changes to my plans I guess this week-end will be another crafty one, after another electrician has been to give me a quote!

This Friday is time as well for the next challenge at The Stamp Man. As always there is a £10 voucher for the shop to be won and once again it is Jill who is hosting the challenge.   There were some amazing alter it projects to be seen over the last 2 weeks I really enjoyed visiting everyone.  This fortnight as Summer turns to Autumn we are focusing on Bright Colours.

Had a bit of a mishap with an ink pad and card recently, we have all done it and dropped the pad face down spoiling the card.  Perhaps not so spoiled this time it was 'dropped' a few more times over the card so that some of the marks peep out from under the dp.   The image is one that Jill gave me to use and shamefully I do not know which stamp set it is from!   The little Bee is also stocked by the Stamp Man and is a Magenta stamp.

Frantically trying to get things made before packing away all my inks stamps and tools a simple colouring with a little 3d was  a delightfully quick and easy make, which at the time was good news and at least it things have had a bit of a sort out.    People who join us at  The Stamp Man  Challenge always make the most of our themes and am looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.  And have you seen what my teamies have produced? Sensational!

It's fun to look around and see if there are other challenge's a project fits into, a great way to discover new challenges and meet more crafters, here's what I found this time Celebrate the Occasion - include a bee in your project.   I've just checked out Amusing Challenge where they are looking for projects coloured with markers!

Tanda Teaser 201 - Myth and Mystery

Bit of an update, all the dashing about getting sorted was in vain, the builder seems to have gone out of business!   Thankfully I had not paid him anything in advance, just have to go through the whole process again of getting quotes and so on.   for now though I'm back!

Guess what, I'm hosting the Tanda Teaser this month!!!   My good friend Sue has been keeping the challenge going by herself for some time now.   As many of you know I've been a supporter of the challenge for several years now, doing as much as I could to encourage and support Sue.   I'm also a member of the Tanda design team so it seemed right that we share responsibility for the Tanda Teaser.    Each Tease lasts for 4 weeks and is just for fun.  Sue and I will be taking turn and turn about.

For this one I used some of my favourite Tanda stamp sets, Dragons and Fantasy.   The background is of course no wrinkle distress which came out with a wonderful streaked 'sky' the perfect playground for flying Dragons.   The flames in black glitter paste are a Imagination Crafts mask, the dragon's horde is made of glitter and Stampedous crushed glass glitter. The main dragon stamped and fussy cut is coloured with Sakura glitter gel pens.   All inspired by a Myth and Mystery theme.

The support is 8.5" x 6" glossy card attached to an A4 card and edged with TH tissue tape.   My only regret is that you cannot see how this sparkles and shines irl.   If you have never joined  Tanda Teaser  it's very easy use what ever medium you like in any format, just be inspired by the theme and join us with it.

I just happened to notice that The Corrosive Challenge have 2 weeks of Myth and Magic so am sharing my panel with them.   Deep Ocean Challenge are calling for things with wings hopefully dragons qualify.   Crafty cardmakers are also looking for things with wings and for this challenge it does not have to be a card it can be anything with wings!   Wings are always popular and Tammy's Scrapin Corner also have a Winged theme.   Finally, for this list, there is Make it Monday an always anything goes linky party that I've not joined for a while but now as I'm up to date and the builder will not be here........... always a silver lining.

Craft-Room Challenge - Collage

Well I might not be around much over the next couple of weeks.  The house is being re-wired and a new bathroom fitted.   Very exciting but all my crafty goodies will have to be put away so I've been frantically trying to get all my DT projects ready ahead of time!

We have a great new challenge for you at Craft-Room Challenge this fortnight.   Selected by Esther, a crafter after my own style and very good at it!   Esther is looking for collage, simple as that a picture or art work made by sticking and layering images and mediums.    We are also very pleased to have Indigo Blu as our sponsor again, one lucky winner will receive a fabulous prize.

No surprise then that for the front cover of another sketch book or journal I've used stamps from three Indigo Blu sets.    The cover is wood chip given a thin coat of gesso just to knock the wood back a bit.   Then using distress inks and masks the collage was stamped out on the cover.   Next some of the main images were stamped onto DP and fussy cut.   The cog stamp top right has been used with glue and gilding flakes.

Check out the rest of the team's fantastic inspiration pieces they are simply gorgeous.   See you over at Craft-Room Challenge

There is a new challenge Anything but a Card and as is the norm they are starting with an anything goes type of theme, anything but a card that is!

Unruly Paper Art - Off to Collage

Off to Collage, now that is a word that gets me in difficulties Collage, College what's the difference? ummm in meanings they are completely different but with me it's always wise to check.   Any way Shar thought being the beginning of school year and all a play on the two words would be fun!

So once I'd sorted out the words I thought it would be fun to make this for the Readers Art Quest 4x4 challenge this month.   Stamping Collage's are great fun with lots of masking.   Fat book pages or 4x4 are traditionally made of mount board some framers will give you their off cuts.   A little back to school theme here with an apple, the easel, pens and in the background a fountain stamp and crown.    The apple and pens stamped in momento and coloured with Pro-Markers the paint splattered easel coloured and stamped with whisper pens.

Unruly paper art Readers Art Quests are all about your readers and their projects, it is the readers who get to vote for their favourites.   Will we see your work there?

Tando with a Flourish

Hi, are you here for the Tando blog hop?   If yes I'm guessing you came from Irit's beautiful blog.   If you are not hopping why not? if you pop to the Tando site to start you can catch up with a full list of the stops.   Remember one lucky person who comments at each stop along the way will win a fabulous Tando prize.

Our hop this time is featuring Tando Flourish's there are so many to choose from!   I've used one of the early chippie shapes the corner flourish which is echoed by the masking behind it.   Many of the shapes are repeated with the popular masks.   Adirondack dye inks with the Ink dusters coloured the tag.   Andy Skinner stamps also with Adirondack dye inks appealed for this simple piece.  The little charm just tops it off.

I hope you like my tag and are now ready to hop along to Caro's site, remember to leave me a comment before you go.

Rogue Redhead Designs Nature Note take 2

Here is my second Guest Designer piece for Red Rogue Designs.    Using the lovely Art Deco style plate Nature Notes.

For this card I looked at some of the smaller elements on the plate combining two images for the design.   The leaf swirl pattern makes a terrific corner accents, stamped here in Versamark.    The simple floral design stamped with Whisper Pens ink direct to rubber, needs little else.    I looked up Carpe Diem on Wikipedia and found;
Carpe is the second-person singular present active imperative of the Latin verb carpō, which literally means "I pick, pluck, pluck off, cull, crop, gather, to eat food, to serve, to want"
Make good use of your day!

The Stamp Man - Alter it

Two posts in one day, gives a bit of a clue abut how busy I've been behind the scene's LOL.

This is my message in a bottle! made in response to your latest challenge for you at The Stamp Man.   This time it's Jill who has set the challenge with a theme of Alter it.   Well what could I do but dutifully drink the cider contents of this bottle leaving it empty and ready for a makeover.   A tough job but someone has to do it.

First the bottle was given stripes of clear drying Viva crackle base to give some key for the next layers to tie into.   The next layer is Dreamweaver embossing paste in pearl roughly laid on with a pallet knife giving lots of edges and texture.   Next a layer of modeling paste smoothed to some extent with wet fingers.  this is thicker in some places than others allowing the sheen of the pearl paste below to shine through.   While this last layer was wet a rubber stamp was pressed into it.  The stamp was to detailed to leave a clear image but added more interesting texture.   Next Stampendous Crushed glass glitter, mica flakes and ep has been sprinkled over it and everything left to dry.   Once the modeling paste had cured the embedded ep was melted with my gentle heat gun.   The glass does get hot and has to be handled carefully during this time, the underlying paste bubbles as well but sinks back as it cools.

Once the glass has cooled again the bottle was sprayed with Moon Glow silver.   Washi tape wrapped around the lip and the base.  A little bit more Stampendous Aged Gold ep (my new favourite ep) added over inks delivered by stamp.  Paper flowers scattered around to finish off.

Altering or re-purposing things is just so much fun and there are so many things in need of a make-over.   Check out all the magical projects the team have made and then why not join us this fortnight at  The Stamp Man  with an alteration of your own.

I'm sharing this with Inspire me Friday's, my second entry this week!  Sarah Hurley challenge is to alter something hope this will be OK.

From Tanda with Love (Pink warning)

This week at Tando we are doing it in 3D lots of projects to choose from, browsing the Tando catalogue I happened on this mantel piece decoration and as is so often the case knew it had to be done!   Especially as the is a fun Hearts Mask that has been used to decorate the heart plaques.

Plaques and letters given a coat of Gesso and allowed to dry.   Using Ink Dusters the painted chipboard has been coloured with DI's.   The mask was then positioned over the shapes and again with the dusters hearts in various quantities and sizes were added to the project.   Now the fun could start!   My new favourite's Stampendous Shabby Embossing Enamels.   Kept adding crushed glass glitter until happy with the results and then a little Vintage Photo DI was brushed on to tone the pinks down and add to the Shabby Chic theme.   The heart added to the O is from my box of Tando Bits and Bobs coated with Viva Gold Craco.

Here are some close ups

Have you checked out the Tando site and seen any of the fabulous projects the team has been sharing?

Craft-Room Pins and/or Charms

Hello again!  We have come round another fortnight to a new Craft-Room  Challenge.    With the school holidays in full swing I suspect that for many of you challenges and crafting generally is a bit of a luxuary.   An extra thank you to all of you who joined us for our last challenge.

Our newest challenge is hosted by  another of our talented team Nikki, and the theme this time is Pins and or Charms.   Once again it is our pleasure to welcome and thank Crafty Individuals for sponsoring us again.

Can you tell that it was a lovely Sunday afternoon a couple of weeks ago when my sample card was made.   The joy of the sunshine and cheerful summer colours certainly inspired me.   All the stamped images are from Crafty Individuals.   The butterflies stamped in Archival Ink onto glossy card and fussy cut.   A piece of patterned card die cut with a Spellbinders pattern and used as a mat/backdrop for the main image.   More CI stamps used with Shabby EP for a background.   3 bling pins added top left and a silver heart charm with a paper flower behind it, bottom right.    Then lots of little paperflowers and some ribbon.

Would love you to visit the rest of the team and see their terrific takes on this theme.  Better yet would love you to join in with us at  Craft-Room  Challenge .

Rogue Redhead Design - Nature Notes take 1

Well get me Guest Designer of  Rogue Redhead Designs, getting to share Shar's latest half plate release with you all. If you like rubber you will be impressed with these really deep cut un-mounted rubber plates.
Thank you Shar for inviting me to be a Guest Designer show casing this lovely new half plate of stamps - Nature Notes.   It is a real treat to get to see these beautiful Art Deco themed images.  These are the latest stamps from Rogue Redhead Designs.

Stamped onto glossy card in Archival Black this has a photographic feel to it while the image is so serene and calming.   With Autumn on the horizon the colours of the season inspired my card.

Glossy card Brayered with Big and Juicy Foliage and then simply stamped and allowed to dry.   Vellum mat cut with Spellbinder die.  TH die used for the twigs and leaves, with a little altered glue laid over the top.

Did someone say Fur 'n Feathers?

Goodness I'm becoming a clean and simple crafter!  I'm sure it is just a phase and I'll grow out of it soon!

Anyway CAS is a great way to start a week-end and with lots of things to do I can get messy later.   The design of this card was set of course by those two Chrissie and Mandi who challenge us weekly at Less is More.

The current theme at Tanda Teaser is also CAS so you know I'm sharing this with Sue there.

Tanda stamps from 2 set the cat first and then masked before the feathers were added.   Everything stamped in Versafine Sepia and coloured with Sakura pens.   Those pens are great for this kind of colouring where you want stroke marks and texture for the cats fur.   With 3 cats at least 2 of whom are active hunters this combination seem perfect to me!

Right off to get my eyes tested now!!!!

The Stamp Man - Precious Metals

Ooh I'm so excited it's here and now time to share my first Stamp Man DT piece with you all.   I'm still spinning from being invited to join the team, many of whom I know all of whom have been most warm and welcoming thank you Jill and the Girls.

On to the challenge which this fortnight has been set by Angela who says we must use Gold, Silver or Bronze to tie in with that terrific medal haul Team GB have already achieved with 2 more days to go!   Congratulations to all contestants who have given us two weeks of wonderful sport and inspiration.

For my wall hanging I started with a sheet of gold coloured metal and a Stampendous stamp, actually the stamp comes in two parts the frame and the cameo but they do look good together.   Stamped the images and then got to work with my embossing tools.   Some time later, actually the following evening, the embossing was complete and the metal attached to a backing card.   Now the fun started, using a quickie glue pen patterns, lines and swirls were drawn on the metal then sprinked with Shabby Green EP, when that was melted the process was repeated with Aged Wine EP and again with the Shabby Green.   Keeping the ep hot and molten some crushed glass glitter and some mica were added followed by more ep.   Finally satisfied with this layer of colour and texture with metal embossed flowers poking through the panel was allowed to dry.    Gold coloured ribbon attached to frame the piece and provide a hanger.   To finish off a little butterfly stamped onto gold coloured vellum cut out and attached.

Well there you have it, my Stamp Man sample and like all the team I'm eager to see what you all make of the challenge.

Craft-Room Fashion

It's been a bit of a merry go round here recently not sure if I'm coming or going!   A new Gym has opened in town and yes I've joined and yes I have been going! All these young girls hardly breaking a sweat as they pedal gracefully and looking at everything going on around them!!! Then there is this mature, fat woman dripping and redder than a beetroot LOL It's rather nice to be back in that groove, wonder if I'll lose weight.

Still between all this exercise and working crafting is still top of the list at home!    We have a new challenge for you over at Craft-Room Challenge  the theme this time is Fashion, chosen by Hazel.   We are sponsored by a new brand on the block Flonz!    They have a terrific range of stamps and very generously allowed all the team to select one or two to use.    Polymer stamps with lots of detail that impress well.

I've used Vintage Fashion Girls - Twenties 02 stamped onto a tag that had been coloured with DI's and those fabby Ink Dusters.   The girls have been coloured with Pro-Markers.   The DL card has a DP torn layer and DI's over the top.    A piece of the same paper used to make a pocket to hold the tag.

As always our amazing and talented team have made beautiful samples to inspire you all, as Hazel says we all love Fashion.   What are your favourite fashion styles/statements you'll find lots of inspiration over at The Craft-Room Challenge and we would love to see your fashion pieces.

Part of the fun is of course discovering other challenge's that our projects might fit with, or which might inspire our work.   I am entering this card into
Amusing Challenges - Use a tag!
Suger Creek Hollow - Something old (the DP is years old) Something New (The Flonz stamp is of course brand new)
Not a long list but very select.
